No Sleep Til’…. WordCamp! New York City, That Is.

This year for WordCamp NYC it is being held at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. The event is from Friday, August 1st until Sunday, August 3rd. On Friday the 1st, there will be a Contributors day held at the New York Times, Midtown Manhattan. Brad Williams and April Williams of WDS will be attending this event!

Brad Williams will be speaking on Sunday, August 3rd at 2:30 PM in the Queens room. The topic of his discussion is Writing Secure WordPress Code. Here is a short description of what you can expect —

You’ll learn the proper way to write the most secure code in WordPress. Whether you’re a plugin developer or build themes, it’s extremely important to understand how to secure your code from hacks and exploits. Overlooking some very easy to follow techniques can expose your website to the hackers everywhere. WordPress features a number of built-in methods to help make sure your code is safe and secure, and we’ll cover each and every one in detail.

You will be able to see April volunteering around the venue and attending the WordCamp presentations!

On Saturday after WordCamp, there will be an after party that both Brad and April will be attending. During the after party, you will be able to network with them and maybe swap some WordPress tricks!

As always, Brad and April are excited to meet new people and reconnect with those they’ve already met. If you see them, don’t be afraid to say hey!
