I am clueless how to get this to display in the side bar. I have the gallery installed, I have an album with 28 images installed and inserted into a gallery. I have entered the correct information into the NextGEN Public Uploader forms. But nothing shows up on the blog page, just the gallery. I don't know why this is so hard, but I find myself constantly clicking around in the admin pages trying to figure out all the settings.

Additional information: I have installed the NextGEN Public Uploader widget and activated it. I see, though, that I am unalble to find it under the Available Widgets to drag and drop into the sidebar. This must be the reason I cannot see it on the sidebar. But why it isn't in the group of Available Widgets is beyond me. I have the NextGEN Widget and the NextGEN Slideshow (along with meta) showing in the sidebar list? I have selected the activate widget several times and logged out and back in too.

Hey,
NextGEN Public Uploader is used by adding the following shortcode to a post/page.
[ngg_uploader] or [ngg_uploader id=1] (Where 1 is the gallery ID)
There is no Widget for this plugin yet, but expect to see that implemented in a future release.
Hope that answers your question.
Thanks,
Scott

Thanks Scott,
I did enter [ngg_uploader id=1] in the Default Gallery Id where my gallery is 1 and saved the changes. Is there somewhere else this must be entered to accompany the uploader?
Ok, I understand that there is no widger persay. So I must open and enter this code directly into the html for the blog body somehow? I understand this somewhat and can parrot what you describe.

Make sure your entering the shortcode in a post/page. Is that where your trying?

Hi Scott,
I see that this tag needs to be entered in a post. I wanted this to be available in the sidebar, all the time. So I don't understand how I will make this available at all times to users of this blog as I add posts above it, won't this post just keep dropping to the bottom of the posts?
This is a dog rescue blog so it would be nice if folks can upload their photos directly and I can just approve them. But if they can't find the uploader, then what is the point of having this available?
Is it possible to enter this code within the html code for the side bar somehow?
Thank you!

Expect to see widget functionality in a week or two. It's high on my priority list for updates.
Thanks,
Scott

Scott,
I did not realize this was a work in progress. My apologies. I will try it out in a post on the blog until you are ready with the widget!
Thank you very much!

I made a new “post”, inserted [ngg_uploader id=1] into it. I opened the blog and there it was! A window with a browse button. I selected a photo off my hard drive, uploaded it and within a few seconds I had an email advising me to approve it. I unchecked the exclude button and it showed up immediately in the gallery. Very cool.
This saves me from having to take emails with attached photos, saving the photo to the hard drive and then uploading them myself! This is especially helpful for rescue dogs as photos tend to come from all over. Thank you. If you want, you can check it out. http://www.cybergiants.com/GiantRescue/
Now I just have to figure out how to actually display an email link on the blog…. I have the email address set in my isp hoster but I'm totally confused how to make it part of the home page. Well, that will be another day. I do have the NextGEN Uploader mail to address set properly, so that will have to suffice for now.

Happy to see you got it working. Looks good as does your site.
The email is to notify you that an image has been submitted and waiting approval.
Stay tuned for updates and thanks again for your feedback.

Hi..this plugin is amazing. i love it.just what i needed.. i know that it is under development.. but when i put NPU tu my sidebar as widget and update it disapears. i also selected gallery wich is to display. in the options on Widget Uploader: there is two enabled options btw . keep up the good work.
Another idea that i saw on forum would be fine to let public uploader to enter descritpion like in my case name of uploader and name of photo.
Another thing that would be fine in future to let us to choose how many photos public people can upload at lets say one per day or something. I know that maybe it is tought to make this because of cookies or ip adresses but please consider it.
