Category Mapping Plugin for WordPress MU

Do you operate a WordPress MU (WPMU) network and want one top-level blog to act as a portal for your global community of blogs?

We are excited to announce the release of the Category Mapping Plugin for WordPress MU.

This plugin allows any WPMU admin to create sub-blog category mappings. Network wide blog posts are then displayed under the top-level blog category pages.

Funding for plugin provided by Margaret Roach. You can view the Category Mapping Plugin in action on her new network of sister blogs at The Sister Project

The Mapping Plugin allows multiple network blog categories to be assigned to primary blog categories. This allows your top-level blog to aggregate all of the blog posts on your WPMU network in one place.

Thinking Outside the Box

One of the great things about WordPress is how it can be customized to fit the needs of anyone.  No matter what your website is or the functionality you require, WordPress (with the help of  its talented community of developers) can provide it for you!

We recently worked with Michael Corwin on his new photography website, MobbedMusic and we think this is a great example of just how versatile WordPress is!  Michael was looking to create a website with functionality similar to that of TasteSpotting.com, but with a focus on music and concert photographers and connecting photographers with fans, artists and industry professionals.  Instead of the “normal” content of posts and comments, Mobbed Music allows the user to upload images and vote for their favorites.

To design MobbedMusic we started with the WooTheme theme shown below.  We then customized it to fit the desires of our client.  If you’re looking for a website that’s “outside the box” contact us today!
