Website Title/Visit Site

Next you’ll see your website’s title.  As you can see in this example, our title is “WebDevStudios.com”.

Next to your website’s title is a button labeled “Visit Site”.

If you click on either your website’s title or the “Visit Site” button, you can access your website’s homepage.  Since you navigated to your homepage through “the back door” you will be able to “Edit” pages and posts by clicking on the “Edit” link found through your site via “the back door.”

Quick Navigate Dropdown Box

This is a great tool, like the Sidebar, for jumping to certain tasks. But the options here are limited: New Post, Drafts, New Page, Upload, and Comments.

Click on “New Post” and your browser navigates to the “Add a New Post” page.

Click on “Drafts” and your browser navigates to a list of Drafts for your site.

Click on “New Page” and your browser navigates to the “Add a New Page” page.

Click on “Upload” and your browser navigates to a page that allows you to upload media for you to incorporate into your site.

Click on “Comments” and your browser navigates to a page where you can edit Comments posted to your site.

Simple!

“Howdy, User” (Profile)

howdy noah

WordPress cofounder, Matthew Charles Mullenweg, was born in Houston, Texas.  That’s the only reason I can think that WordPress would uses such a colloquial greeting.  Anyway, it doesn’t say “User.” It actually says your username.  For an example we’ll use mine! “Howdy, Noah”.  This works in two great ways: let’s you know who is logged in and acts as a link to your profile.

So, click on your username and WordPress will navigate your browser to your Profile Page.

Profile

The Profile Page is where you can input and edit your personal contact information and change your password.

Have you visited the new DrHyman.com?

Dr. Mark Hyman is a family physician, a four-time New York Times bestselling author, and an internationally recognized leader in the field of Functional Medicine.  His websites, DrHyman.com and UltraWellnessCenter.com, contains a wealth of information on Functional Medicine, his 7 Keys to Ultra Wellness, books, healthy recipes, dietary supplements and more.

Dr Hyman’s team was looking for a way to show the world who Dr. Hyman is while maintaining the many facets of his work under a single platform.  We knew that WordPress MultiSite would be the perfect platform to provide just what they needed. WordPress MS allows Dr. Hyman to manage DrHyman.com, UltraWellnessCenter.com and his microsites from one centralized location.

Using the Genesis theme framework, we worked with Dr. Hyman and his team to create a new design and layout for DrHyman.com and UltraWellnessCenter.com.

Working along with the consulting services of Margaret Roach and the design services of Kenneth Smith, the new DrHyman.com is clean, informative, easy to maneuver and easily manageable for Dr. Hyman and his team!
