LoomisCreek.com is the official website of Loomis Creek Nursery, a dynamic specialty retail nursery in New York’s Hudson River Valley. It is co-owned and operated by Bob Hyland, former Vice President of Horticulture & Operations at Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Andrew Beckman, Garden Editor for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. host of “Homegrown” on Sirius Radio 112 . Bob contacted WebDevStudios to create an updated and fresh look for the Loomis Creek Nursery website. The original Loomis Creek Nursery website was designed using Drupal, but we suggested they move over to WordPress, where they would benefit from having more control over the functionality of their website. We imported all of their Drupal content into the new site, re-organized the content to enable easier navigation of the website and incorporated their popular “Plant of the Week” feature as a permanent fixture on the homepage.

Thinking Outside the Box

We recently worked with Michael Corwin on his new photography website, MobbedMusic and we think this is a great example of just how versatile WordPress is! Michael was looking to create a website with functionality similar to that of TasteSpotting.com, but with a focus on music and concert photographers and connecting photographers with fans, artists and industry professionals. Instead of the “normal” content of posts and comments, Mobbed Music allows the user to upload images and vote for their favorites.
