It’s a new year, but with the same momentum. WebDevStudios (WDS) remains dedicated to giving back to WordPress by continuing to devote the last Friday of every month to Five for the Future.
Tomorrow, January 28, is our first Five for the Future (5FTF) Friday of the year. As such, we hope to encourage you to add giving back to WordPress to your list of goals for 2022. Here’s how you can get started.
First, learn what 5FTF is.
Make a reasonable commitment and set up a 5FTF profile.
Share your commitment with the world! Go to the Five for the Future landing page at WordPress.org and set up a profile as either an individual or an organization.
Decide how to contribute.
There are a variety of ways to give back. You could contribute to the Core, volunteer for or speak at a WordCamp, or join a WordPress team (i.e., polygots, documentation, or marketing). Below are some resources to help.
- Make.WordPress.org – This webpage features a myriad of ways to get involved with WordPress.
- Giving Back: How a Company Can Successfully Implement Five for the Future – In 2021, WDS presented a webinar at WordFest Live showing how we host and operate our Five for the Future Fridays.
- More Ways to Contribute to Five for the Future – Also last year, Website Specialist, Christina Workman, put together a blog post listing out ideas for participating in 5FTF. Read it and see if it sparks your imagination
