Ask anyone working in the WordPress ecosystem, and they would agree. There is so much for which to be grateful in WordPress. That includes:
- The friendliest, most supportive community of designers, developers, professionals, and users
- The democratization of publishing and the freedoms that come with open-source technology
- The coolest meetups and conferences (aka WordCamps) ever!
- And, the most interesting, innovative, and sustainable products and services provided in the tech industry (looking at you, social media platforms)
Additionally, WordPress offers all people the opportunity to show their gratitude by giving back via Five for the Future (5FTF). That’s how we’ll be spending our Black Friday this week—by giving back to WordPress.
We do it every last Friday of the month. Last month’s 5FTF Friday took place on October 28th. Check out these tweets from some of our team members to see what they worked on.
Be sure to follow WebDevStudios and the hashtag #5FTF on Twitter to see how we contribute this Friday, November 25th.

Spending the first part of my #5FTF with @webdevstudios updating my social media shortcode plugin. Provide easy links to your profiles! At least once I get it modernized for current social media sites.

Still, 9 Fridays until Christmas, but is #5FTF @webdevstudios and I’m working on a project to speed up my FSE dev process, so I create a CLI script that will spin up a blank FSE theme with WP Scripts so you can start hacking. #WordPress pic.twitter.com/epcbtSYfwD
