Evan is a Backend Engineer at WebDevStudios. He writes custom code for themes and plugins that make WordPress whatever people need it to be.
Evan has been making websites since 1999 when he monopolized time on the family iMac to update his Geocities page. He learned PHP and MySQL as soon as he was able to afford a web host, and he’s been working with WordPress in one form or another since 2005. He worked for Furman University as a website builder while enrolled as a student, and most recently returned there as a professional to help maintain their websites. He was the lead developer in launching their new WordPress-powered news site.
Outside of work, Evan is always working on one idea or another. He has dabbled in everything he can, from making music to writing stories, perfecting his latest deck for various trading card games to replaying another Sonic the Hedgehog game. He and his wife Brittany enjoy Broadway shows (Evan will quote “Hamilton” liberally), good TV, and cheering on the Portland Timbers.
