Justin Foell is an Engineering Manager at WebDevStudios. Since starting in 2017, he’s helped develop robust solutions for clients including Viacom, Campbell Soup, The National Domestic Violence Hotline and Love Is Respect. Justin brings 20 years of web development to WebDevStudios. He’s used several technologies in that time, but he loves open-source solutions the best. His experience is that of a pragmatist, always weighing the newest technologies against the maintainability and lifespan of the code. Doing backend work, integrating and interacting with databases and APIs are what brings him joy.
In 2013 Justin helped reboot WordCamp Minneapolis after a two-year hiatus, by co-organizing with Kiko Doran. WordCamp MSP has been going strong every year since, and Justin has helped every year in some capacity by organizing, volunteering, or speaking.
At home, Justin volunteers as Environmental Quality and Energy Commission, which focuses on issues such as waste reduction through recycling and composting, energy savings through efficiency and reduced usage, and alternative transportation such as public transit, bicycling and walking. In his downtime, he can be found racing high-tech toys like radio controlled cars, trucks, planes, and drones with his son and daughter.
