Oliver is a Frontend Engineer at WebDevStudios. He is responsible for bringing visual design to life using a combination of coding best practices, problem-solving, and collaboration. He loves Advanced Custom Fields, quirky design mockups, bright color palettes and working on UX/UI projects.
Oliver started his career with a diploma in Computer Engineering Technology, allowing him to work as a technical support analyst for several years. He started working with WordPress around 2005, shortly after discovering PHP. Before WebDevStudios, Oliver worked as a graphic designer/web developer at a university in western Canada for five years, eventually making his way to the Montreal tech scene. He recently spoke at the 2019 WordCamp Montreal.
In his spare time, Oliver loves to travel with his wife all over the world; he’s been to Belgium, France, Spain, Belize, Guatemala, and all over the UK and Caribbean. While traveling, he loves to take photos and post them to his blog at Positive Bias. He and his wife vie for the affection of the cutest dog in the world, Lucy, and are both mostly ignored by their cat unless she’s hungry. Oliver enjoys all sorts of music, beer, technology, coffee, cycling and wine—not necessarily in that order.
