Discovery Communications is a well-known global mass media and entertainment company that brings joy to the masses with popular television like the Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, EuroSport, and more. Discovery hired WebDevStudios to do a full website design and development on the WordPress platform.
Discovery Communications Corporate
WebDevStudios has had the pleasure of working with Discovery Communications on a variety of their sites, including their official corporate site, which serves as an information hub for press, potential hires, and all others interested in their corporate updates and news. WDS completed a full website design, and developed a custom theme and design for their site, which is powered by the WordPress content management system.
In April 2016, the website design we developed for Discovery Communications was nominated for a Webby Award in the Corporate Communications category!
Custom Map - Discovery around the world
Discovery Communications is a global company, currently engaged in 220 countries and territories. Using a custom implementation of Mapbox, WebDevStudios created an interactive map that allows users to see Discovery’s international connections, as well as the networks (made up of 2.9 billion subscribers!) across the globe!
Newsroom
Discovery Communications uses their corporate site as a reference point for press and media, so we created the Newsroom, an area to exclusively host programming, corporate, and impact news about their philanthropic efforts, as well as press releases and related updates.
Careers
WebDevStudios the custom post type feature in WordPress to create the Discovery Communication Careers page. We created a new careers search with a third party integration with ICIMS which allows job seekers to narrow down available Discovery Corporate positions that fit their needs. The Careers page now has a space for Discovery Corporate to highlight their values with diversity and inclusion statements, details about internship programs, and the overall benefits for employees, as well as award exceptional members of the team. We also created a grid format for them to easily highlight areas for careers that they felt were particularly important.
