Planting a WordPress Garden of Contributions with Five for the Future

To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow. – Alfred Austin

While the English poet quoted above talked about gardening, the same can be said of the WordPress initiative Five for the Future (5FTF). Tomorrow, March 31st, WebDevStudios (WDS) is dedicating the entire workday to 5FTF and showcasing our faith in the future of WordPress and open-source technology.

That means our teammates will not be working on client work. Instead, they’ll accept support tickets, contribute to the WordPress Core, develop free plugins, translate documentation, caption WordCamp talks, and more. We believe in WordPress’ tomorrow, and we believe what helps get us there are the continual contributions of all WordPress community members.

Here are some of the ways we contributed to 5FTF last month.

A few WDS team members had to postpone their 5FTF day. We thank them for their flexibility.

Remember, anyone can participate in Five for the Future. Here’s what WDS Account Manager Laura Byrne tweeted from WordCamp Asia.

Begin your Five for the Future journey by committing your pledge as an individual or organization. Then, follow WebDevStudios and the hashtag #5FTF on Twitter. For inspiration, watch how members of our team contribute.

There is no 5FTF police! So, give back to WordPress in a way that works for you.
