Fall’s presence is evident. Between the changing leaves and the flurry of WordPress acquisitions occurring frequently, we are obviously in the midst of a transitional season. WebDevStudios (WDS) continues to operate as normal. Our WordPress agency is active, robust, and growing. Read our company news to learn what’s been happening in our virtual hallways.
Weekly Twitter Spaces
WDS Co-Founder and CEO, Brad Williams, has been hosting weekly Twitter Spaces events. The chats revolve around WordPress and technology, and everyone is invited to join. That means you are, too.
Brad’s WordPress Twitter Spaces happen at 1 p.m. Eastern on Fridays, including tomorrow, October 1st. Follow Brad on Twitter where he tweets the link to the event. Join via mobile to access the microphone feature and request to speak. Desktop functions are limited.
Embracing Headless WordPress on The DE{CODE} Podcast
In case you haven’t noticed, our website design and development agency loves talking about Headless WordPress! WDS Director of Engineering, Greg Rickaby, who has written quite a few Headless WordPress blog posts, was recently the featured guest on WP Engine’s “The DE{CODE} Podcast.”
During his appearance, Greg talked with host Kellen Mace, a former WDS engineer, about why WebDevStudios embraces Headless WordPress. The two also discussed our Next.js starter and how WDS might utilize WP Engine’s Atlas.
Listen to Greg’s interview here.
Out in Tech
Website Specialist, Christina Workman, is always going above and beyond to give back. On September 11th, Christina volunteered for Out in Tech‘s Build Day, where she and other members of the WordPress community banded their skills together to build websites for LGBTQIA organizations.
Five for the Future in Action
WDS’ passion for contributing to Five for the Future (5FTF) never waivers, and one of the things that keeps the motivation going is when we witness our contributions in action. Frontend Engineer, Alfredo Navas, recently used his 5FTF time to dive into the world of WordPress full site editing (FSE) and write a blog post titled, “WordPress FSE and Block-Based Themes.”
From there, Jamie Marsland, Pootlepress Founder, created a video tutorial based on Alfredo’s blog post. This is the power of Five for the Future.
What started off as continuing education, turned into a blog post, which then became a tutorial video. Shared knowledge fuels open-source technology and WordPress. Watch Jamie’s FSE video tutorial on YouTube.
The WPMRR Virtual Summit
With a focus on monthly recurring revenue businesses, The WPMRR Virtual Summit took place September 21-23, 2021. Topics such as sales, marketing, and website management were covered.
As the owner of Maintainn, the WordPress support and maintenance arm of WebDevStudios, Brad participated in a website management roundtable, talking with other WordPress maintenance business owners about running and operating a recurring revenue business, reaching goals, and retaining customers.
