One of our favorite talks from WordCamp Philly 2012 was the “Oh, The Themes You’ll Do!” by our own Lisa Sabin-Wilson. At WordCamp Philly that year, she dressed up as the very popular “The Cat in The Hat”. Along with dressing as a Dr. Seuss character, Lisa did half the talk in rhyme! The speech highlighted creating WordPress themes from scratch. She explains how users can create their own themes, without the mumbo jumbo of coding or developing.
To watch this speech and learn what you can, click the video below to learn all about creating WordPress Themes….from a cat!
For those interested, here is Lisa’s slides – – also decked out, Dr. Seuss-style!
Also, check out some pics of Lisa in her “Cat in The Hat” costume!
Some of our favorite lines for her talk include this one:
A Bracket …
A Question Mark …
& php, true
Before the tag you’re intending to use.
A semicolon …
A Question Mark…
All comes before
You close up that bracket, so you can do more!
And this one…pure awesomeness:
Themes live, yes they do on a server, its true!
They stay, and they live… I would say that they do
They live, with no doubt
Where you store them, it seems
Those files surely live in a folder called THEMES
Creative cat!
