We’re not sure what was best about WordCamp Orange County (WCOC) – the cool coastal vibe, the enlightening WordPress education, or the friendly networking. Maybe it was all of the above. At any rate, WCOC, which took place June 10-11 in Irvine, CA was a blast. Here’s why:
Sessions
“I really loved all the sessions I attended, but the Vue.js session was particularly interesting given the timeliness of the topic (since there is that hot debate between React & Vue.js in Core). It seems like such an approachable framework, and I’m really keen to give it a whirl.”
–Carrie Forde, Senior Frontend Developer
Swag
“The organizing staff is amazing and the camp was well thought out and organized. The swag was simply amazing this year. The theme of the camp was superheroes. They had capes, masks, and these awesome logo pins. They were super detailed. Overall I would recommend this camp to anyone.”
–Russell Aaron, Backend Developer
Schmoozing
“Since we are a fully distributed company, I always appreciate the the opportunity to hang out in-person with co-workers. Strong bonds are built with shared experiences. Being able to sit in the same sessions and then discuss them right after also helps to make the connection on how something you just learned might be useful back at work.”
