WPEngine Mercury Project
WP Engine approached WebDevStudios to build a website to showcase documentation, tutorials, and general information about their new Mercury Project, a “completely new platform from WP Engine built for unparalleled performance and reliability.”
Mercury is essentially a new platform that allows WordPress to perform ten times faster than existing PHP web hosts. We built it from the ground up with custom design, graphics, and WordPress theme development–and all in only two weeks time.
Custom Content Sections
Our goal was to make the different content sections modular so that they could be included on any page and create a consistent content structure across the site. The solution was to create a content sections post-type so WPEngine could build the content without having to reconstruct the page over and over again. Then, we built the tool that allowed them to easily attach one, two, or more content sections to individual pages within the site with a seamless drag and drop interface that makes it super easy for them to manage and control.
“We just want to make sure it doesn’t blow up on devices.”
– Tomas, of WPEngine.
