The 2013 CMS Expo is coming up soon! This year it is running from the 14th until the 16th of May and is being held at the Hilton Orrington Hotel in Evanston, Illinois.
What is the CMS Expo?
It is a 3 day learning adventure to expand your knowledge on the featured CMS platforms such as: WordPress, Drupal, OpenText, Joomla, OpenText, SageFrame, and Jahia. Whether you’re novice or an expert on the in and outs of CMS platforms, this conference has a perfect fit for everyone. Learn something new, or learn what you already know – better.
Why are we excited?
The organizers of this conference reached out to our own Lisa Sabin-Wilson to attend and speak to conference attendees. She will be presenting twice at this event!

Exploring WordPress Multisite – One Install, Multiple Sites –
Problem: How to harvest the power of WordPress Multisite to build content and improve efficiency
Solution: Showcase of real world examples of WordPress Multisite, plus practical implementation practices
An introduction to the Multisite feature of WordPress that helps users understand what Multisite is, how to activate the features on their WordPress.org installation, a walk through of basic features…followed up with several use case scenarios and examples to assist users determine if the Multisite feature is a viable solution for their WordPress project(s).
Prerequiste: Basic understanding of the WordPress platform.

Creating Community with WordPress + BuddyPress. –
Problem: Need to add a social layer to a WordPress web site
Solution: Explores the robust WordPress plugin called BuddyPress. Provides real-world examples of BuddyPress in use and practical installation/implementation practices
An introductory look at the BuddyPress plugin for WordPress. Discover what BuddyPress is and determine if the features of the BuddyPress plugin meet your feature needs. This session takes you through a quick discovery of the features and components of BuddyPress, a walk through on installation and real world examples of BuddyPress in action. By the end of this session, you’ll have a complete grasp on what BuddyPress is (and isn’t) to enable you to answer the questions “Do I really need it?” and “How hard is it to work with?”
