WebDevStudios Raises Funds for Girl Develop It!

December is here and the holidays are upon us! Every year, we like to raise money we like to give back; in the past we’ve done it as a competition between the teams, but this year we decided to narrow the focus to one charity that helps improve our community.

After a team vote, it was decided that this year we’ll raise $5,000 for Girl Develop It!

GDI is an incredible org that we covered in a post earlier this year. In case you aren’t familiar: Girl Develop It is a non-profit organization that provides affordable web and software development programs for adult women. They have forty-six chapters and 35,000+ members nationwide that provide affordable opportunities for women of all races, education levels, and income who are interested in learning web and software development. They provide in-person classes and community support for students to reach their technology and career related goals. For every dollar ($) raised, we can directly help improve the tech industry’s gender diversity gap, and support fellow programmers, aspiring and current, expand their education.

Each of the team members is doing what they can to raise money, and WDS will be throwing in as well. Will you join us in supporting Girl Develop It this holiday season? Every little bit counts, and even a couple of dollars can make a big difference. Head over to our YouCaring page and make a donation to give the best gift of all: education.
