Meet the Newest Addition to Our Camp!

Whether internal, external, talent-wise, or otherwise… the growth at WebDevStudios (WDS) continues! In fact, we have yet another new team member to introduce. Meet the latest addition to our camp: Autry Reeves. Autry recently joined our WordPress agency as the Assistant Project Manager, which is a new role for our company. Read on to learn about Autry’s goals, what her first WDS Camp was like, and why she was inspired to join the team at WDS.

This is a selfie style portrait of Autry Reeves, WebDevStudios Assistant Project Manager. She is wearing glasses and smiling at the camera.

“I’d always heard about WebDevStudios when attending WordCamps and through the WordPress community,” Autry explains her journey to WDS. After obtaining her degree in Web Design and Development, she knew she wanted a job working with WordPress, and WDS was one of the agencies that came to mind.

After reviewing other WordPress agencies, Autry decided that the culture of WebDevStudios was something she wanted to experience. “The company is its own happy, friendly community of WordPress lovers, and I couldn’t imagine a better place.”

A community of WordPress lovers is something Autry knew she wanted to be around because she was already impressed with the WordPress community itself, saying that she has always found the people welcoming, accepting, and inviting.

“Another thing I love is that WordPress is always changing and improving,” Autry explains her admiration further. “I love to learn and am convinced that I will always have something new to learn while working with WordPress and web development!”

The project management acumen that Autry contributes to our team daily, believe it or not, spills over into her daily life. She proudly expresses an adoration for making lists and writing out schedules. She claims being organized helps her feel calm.

“To see a small idea become a beautiful project is so rewarding,” Autry elaborates. “I’m currently planning my sister’s wedding, and it’s funny to see how much of what I’ve learned as a project manager has translated into the planning process. I have even set up my own ‘sprints’ (in a way) for all the plans! My personal life is fairly organized, particularly with my time management and day-to-day goals and activities.”

This year’s WDS Virtual Camp was a first, as the change to a virtual format became necessary to our annual company retreat due to the pandemic. However, the camp itself was a first for all of our new WDS team members, including Autry.

“WDS camp was incredible,” Autry gushes. “Something I really enjoyed was getting to know the team even better and making more connections with my team members. I learned that the WebDevStudios team is one that works hard, so they can play hard. I think a lot of fully distributed companies struggle to find connection with one another, and that just isn’t the case at WDS. Communication and connection between the team is so strong!”

Autry is eager to learn and grow at WDS. She expresses that one of her main goals is to gain new perspectives on project management and grow my knowledge of web development and WordPress, but she also reports that she’s already experiencing personal growth simply through the interactions she has with her coworkers daily.

Autry insists that anyone thinking about joining the team at WebDevStudios should simply go for it. “I have never seen so much support in a professional environment,” she says. “After seeing many different work environments between myself and my family members, I can’t say it gets better than WDS. My coworkers are extremely encouraging and always happy to help. I’m always excited to go to work in the morning, and I know that’s because of WDS.”

Do you want to love your job as much as Autry does? WebDevStudios is hiring! We recently added a new Support Engineer position to our Careers page, but we’re also hiring Backend Engineers, Frontend Engineers, and Sales Account Managers. A 100% distributed company, WDS offers great benefits, including health insurance, flex time, paid time off, and tacos. Who knows? Maybe the next new employee we introduce on the pages of our blog will be you!
