Ensuring the Long-Term Success of WordPress with Five for the Future

It’s true. The initiative Five for the Future helps to ensure the long-term success of WordPress. How?

  • It increases the number of contributors to WordPress. When more people contribute to WordPress, it becomes more robust and resilient. This is because there are more people who are familiar with the code and can help fix bugs and security vulnerabilities.
  • It creates a more inclusive and welcoming community. Five for the Future encourages organizations to contribute to WordPress regardless of their size or resources. This helps to ensure that WordPress is a platform that is accessible to everyone.
  • It helps to ensure that WordPress remains relevant in the future. By investing in new features and technologies, Five for the Future (5FTF) helps to ensure that WordPress is not left behind as the web evolves.

Recently, WebDevStudios CEO Brad Williams was interviewed by Remkus de Vries for the Within WordPress Podcast. In this episode, Brad explains why WordPress agencies should participate in 5FTF and how doing so helps to ensure the long-term success of WordPress. You can watch this interview on YouTube.

Five for the Future Friday

On the last Friday of every month, WebDevStudios (WDS) pauses client work to sponsor a day of giving back to WordPress. That means that tomorrow, June 30th, is 5FTF Friday at WDS.

Our team members will be contributing to the WordPress core, organizing WordCamps across the globe, developing plugins, and mentoring other WordPress developers and users. Not only do we love to participate in 5FTF, but we also love to share our contributions on Twitter. So be sure you’re following @webdevstudios and the hashtag #5FTF.

Ensuring the Long-Term Success of WordPress

All of us benefit from the consistent progress of WordPress, whether we’re developers, designers, content creators, users, or WordPress website owners. As we collaborate to ensure the prosperity of WordPress, we are also securing our own success.

Below are some examples of how WDS team members contributed to 5FTF in May. We hope you find inspiration to get involved, too.
