Monster for Employers

Welcome to Hiring.Monster.com, Monster’s digital resource center for employers. Employers can browse Monster’s products, solutions, and pricing to construct a plan to meet their recruitment needs.

Recently, Monster came to WebDevStudios with two objectives for their recruitment website:

  • Data Migration from Internal Servers
  • Custom-Built Recruitment Website

WebDevStudios facilitated the data migration from Monster’s internal servers to our host partner WP Engine. Additionally, our design and development team custom-built a new theme for Hiring.Monster.com. The starter theme for this project was our own wd_s theme, which is built for security, lightweight for SEO, and accessibility-ready.

Monster was so satisfied with the custom-built theme and migration work that we performed for them that the recruitment company returned for ongoing website development and support of all 21 of the brand’s websites.

Custom WordPress Theme Development

Custom-Built Theme

As part of the Hiring.Monster.com website project, the recruitment website required a custom-built theme to meet their digital goals, which included the following:

  • Enhance Organic SEO Strategy: The new website needed to be better suited to contribute to organic growth and traffic. The page load time was a high priority.
  • Drive eCommerce Transactions: The client sought to increase subscriptions and job ads and required a digital platform to support that.
  • Improve Lead Generation: One of Monster’s goals was to connect and engage more with their customers, collect leads, and seamlessly get those leads to their sales team.

In order to achieve these requirements, WebDevStudios configured a specialized WordPress theme that included customizations of:

  • Global Elements, like their header, menu and footer
  • Customized content blocks that allow them to target their content for perfect placement on their website
  • Custom post types and meta data fields, giving them the opportunity to customize their content quickly, reducing the administrative / editorial overhead

Enhancements

  • Accessibility

Although page load time was important for meeting performance goals, website accessibility was also a top priority. Both WebDevStudios and Monster know that an accessible web is essential to everyone. A keen eye was put on users’ challenges across the accessibility spectrum.

To test its website accessibility, Monster used an enterprise-grade platform called Applause. This platform offers a full suite of accessibility testing and training services. Once the recruitment company identified the issues that needed to be addressed to enhance accessibility, the team at WebDevStudios successfully tackled over 100 accessibility special projects.

  • Core Web Vitals

Core Web Vitals is a set of metrics that measure real-world user experience for loading performance, interactivity, and visual stability of the page. They are important because they can affect a website’s ranking in Google search results.

When Monster first came to WebDevStudios, Core Web Vitals was still new, and the recruitment website was measuring poorly. After our team implemented the right enhancements and optimizations, the client’s website Core Web Vitals measured in the high 90s.

  • Choose Your Monster Service

The Choose Your Monster Service is a helpful tool for employers to quickly find suitable candidates for their recruitment goals. The page templates used for this service page and its associated Pricing Plan page were created by WebDevStudios.

We made sure that the new page templates matched the current Monster theme and also built new ACF blocks to meet specific design requirements while reusing some previously-developed ones.

Ongoing Website Development

One developer is never enough for enterprise-level organizations like Monster. With a multilingual, multisite network of 21 different website properties, WebDevStudios has a select group of project managers, designers, and engineers who are devoted to each of these websites.

This includes a continual commitment and dedication to:

  • Bug fixes
  • Accessibility enhancements
