BlogWorld & New Media Expo is the first and only tradeshow, conference, and media event dedicated to promoting the dynamic industry of blogging and new media. The BlogWorld Blog is a one stop shop for information about the expo, speakers, panels and all kinds of blogging-related topics such as social media for business, blog, podcast and video content creation, distribution, and monetization.
WebDevStudios created a new design for the BlogWorld Blog using the popular Genesis theme framework. Our rock star designer, Chris Cochran, built a completely custom child theme based on our clients specifications. The new layout allows BlogWorld to easily highlight the new and important posts right on the home page and also makes it much easier for the reader to search for content based on the topics that interest them.
We also created a few special features for this website such as a scrolling ticker that can be seen at the top of the page listing the latest news and a custom event photo rotator powered by custom post types.
One other great feature we used on the new website is an ad management platform using OIO Publisher where people can easily purchase and manage ad spots.

Interested in attending BlogWorld & New Media Expo? WebDevStudios will be there! This year’s event will take place in Las Vegas October 14-16, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Resort so make sure you track us down!
I actually preferred the old version. The new one is typical of “news sites” – information overload that doesn’t let you focus on the really key info.
Glad that Chris Cochran’s “how to change the PHP footer credit” on Genesis tutorial brought me here. I am already a fan of Brad Williams from his WordPress Security slide show. Delighted to see all this good WordPress info here.
Being a new Genesis framework user, I enjoy talking about it and I’m attending BlogWorld 2010 so I’m glad to see this article. Thanks April. Happy to see your staff page includes Twitter handles. I have a WordPress twitter list that I’d like to add to. BTW there’s an easy to make typo on http://twitter.com/ronalfy on the staff page. Are you on Twitter? @LindaSherman
