We recently had the pleasure of working with Kathleen Mitchell, founder of Kit Mitchell on a website redesign. Kit Mitchell is home to a great line of Scottish inspired apparel, accessories and home goods. Even though they have a great line of products, they felt the website and blog didn’t reflect the line and weren’t bringing visitors to the site.
We worked with the Kit Mitchell team to change the focus of the website from being focused around the shop to one that showcased their great products as well as the feeling and thoughts behind Kit Mitchell’s line. We also moved her blog from Blogger to WordPress to allow Kathleen more flexibility and features.
Kit Mitchell’s new WordPress website is designed using the popular Genesis theme framework which provides them with both a well-designed, secure framework and a great clean look. The new website allows Kit Mitchell to highlight three featured posts and select their featured images in an featured post rotator designed by our very own Chris Cochran. Below the rotator and shop sections are three sections where Kit Mitchell is able to easily highlight specific post categories on their homepage. Using the featured post widgets included in the Genesis framework, Kit Mitchell is able to change these categories at any time they see fit. All of this flexibility allows Kit Mitchell to keep their website fresh and their posts well organized.
We really love how the new KitMitchell.com came out and we hope you do too!
