In May 2014, Dre Armeda announced that he was stepping down as CEO of Sucuri, Inc., a business that he started 4 years ago and turned into a very successful multi-million dollar, 30+ employee company that services millions of unique monthly scans, monitors thousands of websites, and makes sure that 100′s of websites are cleared of malware daily. As a CISSP, Dre is a recognized expert in the field of Information Security.
We are very proud, and excited, to announce that Dre has joined our leadership team here at WebDevStudios and has stepped into the role of VP of Operations with a focus on organizational and business development, talent development and strategy.
Prior to running Sucuri, Dre was the founder of Cubic 2, a custom web design & development shop that provided custom solutions for WordPress clients. If that sounds familiar, that’s because that’s what we do here at WebDevStudios. We are excited about bringing Dre’s experience and expertise into our team here at WDS, as we know his years of experience in information security & architecture, managing remote teams, and his achievements in building and scaling a successful business will bring great value to our clients, and team, here at WebDevStudios.
Dre’s excitement for open source software matches our own, and his passion for the WordPress project, in particular, is evident in his contributions to the community. As a popular, and regular, speaker at WordCamps, and related events, he is responsible for making an entire community of users and developers more aware of the importance of securing code and web sites by presenting it in a way that is easy to understand, while at the same time instilling a sense of urgency around making sure we all are doing what we can to secure our data and sites from the various risks out there in the WWW.
Dre also contributes to this community by way of a very popular, and informational, podcast that he co-hosts with our own Brad Williams. DradCast airs every Wednesday evening at 8pm ET and is a show that primarily concentrates on the latest news around WordPress, upcoming WordPress events, and the wonderful community surrounding the premiere open source content management system on the internet.
On a personal level, Dre resides in southern California and is a Harley enthusiast, a Chargers fan and he loves tacos. Having spent several years in the Navy, he shares the esteemed title of “former military geek” with Brad and Brian (both former Marines).
We are thrilled to have Dre join our executive team here at WebDevStudios. As we continue to grow and mature as a company, he plays a significant role in helping lead us into the future. Our executive team is now complete with Brad Williams(CEO), Lisa Sabin-Wilson (COO), Brian Messenlehner (CTO) and now the addition of Dre Armeda as VP of Operations, we are excited for the future of our team and for our clients!
Please join us in welcoming Dre as the newest member to the WDS team!
Cool guys! Congrats!
So…Most of the executive team has written books…When does Dre have to write one? 🙂
Haha, Mike – it was only a matter of time before someone pointed that out. Dre actually contributed to a chapter on WordPress Security in my “WordPress All In One” book – I think that counts 🙂
HeHe. I think its time for a whole book on WP Security.
I’m down to write a book 🙂
Whoah, this is wonderful news!
Nice brother. Congrats – You guys are putting together a magically powerful team. Time to take over the world?
