Is the ending of the first month of 2023 catching you off guard? You’re not alone. So much has happened already. Here is the latest company news from WordPress website agency WebDevStudios (WDS).
Podcasts
Our teammates love dropping knowledge. We kept our January busy by popping up as a guest or cohost on podcasts.
Do the Woo
If you haven’t subscribed to “Do the Woo” by now, you should. This podcast is created for WooCommerce builders. People who want to learn how to build a successful eCommerce business with WooCommerce should listen to the experts at “Do the Woo.”
First, WDS CEO, Brad Williams, contributed to the episode that “Do the Woo” founder, BobWP, put together specifically to feature his hosts.
Then, Brad co-hosted the following two episodes, which focused on cryptocurrency and WooCommerce. Listen to both below.
Accepting Cryptocurrency in a WooCommerce Store with Lauren Dowling
WooCommerce, Payments and Crypto with Keala Gaines and Dave Lockie
Jukebox
The “Jukebox” podcast is a WordPress podcast from WP Tavern. This month, WDS Backend Engineer, Lax Mariappan, paid a visit to discuss Headless WordPress.
If you’re still in the dark about what Headless WordPress is and whether or not it’s right for you, listen in on this conversation today.
35+ Best WordPress Plugins
We love lists. It's even more enjoyable when we're on them.
Our most popular, Custom Post Type UI (CPTUI), made it to MoonWP's list of 35+ best WordPress plugins. CPTUI has been downloaded over 13 million times, so we're not too surprised it made the cut.
Call for Premium Plugins
Brad may have shaken up the WordPress world just a little bit with this tweet:
If you own a premium WordPress plugin and are interested in selling let me know. We're putting a focus back on @pluginize this year and want to expand our premium offerings! DMs are open!
— Brad Williams (@williamsba) January 30, 2023
So, if you're the owner and developer of a premium plugin that you'd like to unload, contact us. Let's chat!
WordCamp Asia
WordCamp Asia takes place next month, February 17th-19th. This event sold out in an instant. We're excited to share that four of our own team members will be there:
- Engineering Manager, JC Palmes, is a WordCamp Asia global organizer.
- Lax, who we mentioned earlier, is a Contributor Day organizer.
- Lead Engineer, Ashar Irfan, is an attendee.
- And, Account Manager, Laura Byrne, is a speaker. Her talk is titled, "Disillusioned at Age 50: Turning a 10-year WordPress hobby into a successful new career as a woman who doesn’t code."
Don't be bummed out if you missed your chance to get a ticket to attend WordCamp Asia. Talks will be live-streamed.
