One would think that with February being a short month, we wouldn’t have much to report in this month’s company news. But… one would be wrong!
Look, it’s WebDevStudios. There is always something exciting happening at our website agency. So, let’s get to it.
WordCamps
In-person WordCamps are making a comeback. One took place in February, while another is headed our way in March. Let’s check out both.
WordCamp Asia
The first-ever WordCamp Asia took place February 17-19, 2023, in Bangkok, Thailand.
- 1,724 people registered
- 1,299 people attended
- 653 people contributed
- 3,185 people streamed
As important as the above data, four members from WebDevStudios were there. They even took a photo together to prove it.
Below, from left to right, are Lead Engineer, Ashar Irfan; Backend Engineer, Lax Mariappan; Account Manager, Laura Byrne; and Engineering Manager, JC Palmes. Because our team is distributed and works remotely, it’s a big deal when teammates connect in person.
Ashar attended the event, and Lax was a Contributor Day Organizer. Laura was a Speaker at WordCamp Asia, while JC was a Global Lead Organizer. We hear the event was a huge success, and we’re glad our teammates had an experience they’ll never forget.
WordCamp Phoenix
WebDevStudios is a proud sponsor of WordCamp Phoenix, happening March 24-25. Additionally, Laura is one of the speakers of this WordCamp event. Her talk is titled “The Art of the WordPress Pitch: Relationships and Sales.” We’ll share more about the event next month.
In the Media
WebDevStudios CEO, Brad Williams, is our media darling. What better way to showcase the expertise of our WordPress website agency than by making sure Brad is everywhere? Here are his most recent appearances.
WordPress Friday
WordPress Friday is back, baby! What started as a weekly event on Twitter Spaces has evolved into a live-streaming show on YouTube.
Brad continues to co-host the show with Victor Ramirez, Director of Engineering at AbstractWP. Catch WordPress Friday, aka #WPFriday, every Friday at 10 a.m. Eastern. Subscribe to our WebDevStudios YouTube channel to join the chat.
WP Product Talk
Kim Coleman and Brad joined forces to discuss the importance of Five for the Future. You can listen to this audio podcast at The WP Minute+ website.
Do the Woo
Brad loves talking crypto and WooCommerce. He discusses both with Kathy Zant, Dave Lockie, and Jonathan Wood on this episode of Do the Woo.
Plugin Madness
What would the spring season be without Plugin Madness? It’s the annual bracket-style competition that pits WordPress plugins against one another.
Our very own WordPress plugin, Custom Post Type UI (CPTUI), made the cut. But it won’t make the championship without your vote.
Please take a moment to vote for CPTUI in Plugin Madness. You can vote daily.
WebDevStudios Is Hiring an Engineering Manager
Our website agency continues to grow and grow. While we are still recruiting additional backend and frontend engineers, we are also searching for an engineering manager. Please review our Careers page to learn about all our open positions, and share with your friends!
