After running her own digital marketing agency for many years, founding Women Who WP, and organizing various WordCamp events, Jen Miller, MBA, MSML, has joined the team at WebDevStudios as our Director of Accounts.
“A couple of years ago, I was chatting with several members of the WebDev team at WordCamp Phoenix, and I mentioned that if I ever chose to work for a company in the WordPress space, WebDev would be it,” Jen recounts the first time she considered joining our WordPress agency. “At the time, Brad Williams told me it would be great to work together, and we laughed it off. Now, I look back and see that my initial hunch was right. WebDevStudios is as fun and friendly of a workplace as I imagined.”
Jen Miller, Director of Accounts
Jen had hit a crossroads with her business and her career. Although her company created websites, its primary focus was always content marketing. As search algorithms changed and applications utilizing artificial intelligence were released, she and her team worried about quality and copyright ramifications.
“Since I still loved creating WordPress websites that allow businesses to succeed and admired the team culture at WebDevStudios, I reached out when I heard they had an open position,” Jen explains, adding, “It’s amazing to be a part of the culture created at a fully distributed company, and it feels very similar to how my team and I worked together in the agency I owned. I guess you can say it feels like home.”
Supporting Client Success
As our Director of Accounts, Jen oversees sales, which means her daily focus is on understanding client objectives and nurturing client relationships. She says that during these past few months at WebDevStudios, she learned that WordPress can answer almost every client need, provided the scope and budget make it possible.
“I aim to lead and strategize with our sales team to exceed company goals through collaboration with existing and new WebDevStudios partners and clients,” says Jen. “I want to leave an impact by streamlining processes and helping our clients increase value. I also hope to improve the lives of my teammates as we work together and learn from one another. It is exciting to be at a company where iteration and cultural inclusivity is welcomed!”
Not only is Jen excited to introduce clients to the right website solutions, but she is also impressed with the evolution of WordPress, saying, “WordPress has grown considerably since I started using it in 2009, and the iteration process fascinates me. I’m constantly impressed by the unique ways I see it used and the options it provides.” Jen points out that her favorite improvements in the latest major release, WordPress 6.5, are the enhanced speed and accessibility features.
More About Jen
When Jen isn’t closing deals, building client relationships, and being an active member of the WordPress community, she teaches leadership classes on various business topics, including marketing.
“Teaching digital marketing analytics is very rewarding because it allows me to help future marketers prepare by sharing my marketing knowledge and skills, with the goal of them passing the Google Analytics certification exam and gaining skills that result in improved careers,” says Jen.
On top of everything else, Jen is a bonafide Swiftie.
“Aside from her site being built on WordPress, I admire Taylor Swift’s ability to relate to her audience. She is an artful poet and a masterful marketer. What’s not to love? I find her music and stance in the music industry brave and inspiring,” she explains. In particular, the following lyrics resonate with Jen:
Sometimes, givin’ up is the strong thing. Sometimes, to run is the brave thing. Sometimes, walkin’ out is the one thing that will find you the right thing.
WebDevStudios believes we’ve found the right thing with Jen. We currently don’t have any job openings, but please check our Careers page frequently for any future opportunities.
Nice introduction for a person that will definitely be an asset to WebDev. Congratulations on retaining Jen Miller for your Director of Accounts.
