Last week, WebDevStudios received WP Engine’s Peak Performance award for a WordPress website we launched using our block theme for Freeman Company. We were beyond excited to hear the announcement. However, elevated performance is not a topic we consider to be news because we see it every day.
The Freeman.com website only illustrates a small part of the work we do to help websites perform better. We often celebrate performance wins with our clients! They come seeking solutions for optimization on WordPress websites and are in disbelief when we produce the results they had hoped for from their investment.
Targeting Peak Performance
Recently, we had a client come to us with a highly-trafficked seven-year-old website that hadn’t had recent updates. Multiple issues were causing the website to go offline and resulted in traffic loss concerns. Our engineering team recognized areas where improvements could make a huge difference. Once our team implemented those changes, the website was able to perform as expected and has been working steadily since.
In another instance, we had a media site come to us due to spikes in traffic, which caused their website to have fatal errors. Their team had brought in consultants and worked to improve the issues for over a year, but hadn’t seen results. They came to WebDevStudios seeking a solution. After auditing the multisite environment, we saw obvious errors in the theme and issues with the hosting configuration. We immediately went to work to rectify the situation and resolve the issues. The problem disappeared, and everyone was in shock because it seemed so simple. However, the simplicity comes from years of expertise in problem-solving WordPress websites, seventeen years to be exact. As is generally the case, when an expert evaluates the issue, such as with this website, errors that others can’t see are diagnosed. That is where our identity as a WP Engine Peak Performance Award winner shines.
