This year for WordCamp Phoenix, Brad Williams, Lisa Sabin-Wilson, Brian Messenlehner, and Brad Parbs of WDS will be attending and speaking. WebDevStudios is also sponsoring this event! WCPHX is being held January 17-19, 2014 in Chandler, Arizona.
Brad Parbs will be speaking on Friday January 17th, at 9AM in the Advanced Dev Track. His presentation will tell you all about Writing Extensible Plugins.
Functionality in a WordPress site usually requires a variety of plugins, all that need to work together. Sometimes, plugins need to be extended and modified. We’ll go through how to build a plugin that supports extensibility and modification, without hacks. This will be an interactive session, where everyone can share their tips and tricks for this.
Brad Williams will be speaking at 3:15PM Saturday January 18th in the Extension & Development track. He will be telling you all about Writing Secure WordPress Code.
You’ll learn the proper way to write the most secure code in WordPress. Whether you’re a plugin developer or build themes, it’s extremely important to understand how to secure your code from hacks and exploits. Overlooking some very easy to follow techniques can expose your website to the hackers everywhere. WordPress features a number of built-in methods to help make sure your code is safe and secure, and we’ll cover each and every one in detail.
Brian and Lisa will not be speaking at this event, but will be in attendance in the crowd. If you see any of them, make sure stop and say hi!
If you don’t get the chance to speak with Brad, Brian, Lisa, or Brad P. during WordCamp hours, you can catch them all at the after events including — Wine and Design Happy Hour & Awards, Speakers, Organizers, and Sponsors Dinner, and the After Party at Chandler City Hall! They all look forward to seeing everyone they’ve already met and getting to meet new people who have the same passion for WordPress as they do.
