Our band of brothers and sisters just grew by one! Join us in welcoming Senior Backend Developer, Justin Foell.

Justin Foell, Senior Backend Developer

Justin has been doing web development since 2003 when he moved to Las Vegas to find fame and fortune. Back then, he and his fellow developers built the backend of several sites using PHP libraries they put together themselves. The frontend had a total of four (FOUR!) templates to choose from at the time.

John Hawkins, WebDevStudios Director of Products, who he worked with in Las Vegas, introduced Justin into the WordPress world in 2010 by inviting him to WordCamp. Since then, he’s been steeped in WordPress and hasn’t looked back.

Justin worked with Kiko Doran, web developer and conference organizer, to reboot and co-organize the Minneapolis-based WordCamp in 2013 after going dormant for a few years. It has been going strong every year since. When not busy with other commitments, Justin stays active with the Minneapolis WP Meetup and WordCamp Minneapolis.

Justin lives just outside Minneapolis with his wife, Jessi, and two children. He spends most of his free time as the director of Minnesota Brass Drum & Bugle Corps, a part-time, all-age, 100+ member musical group that is like a marching band on steroids.

Follow Justin on Twitter and read his blog at Foell.org/justin. If you’re interested in joining the amazing team at WebDevStudios, check out our career page.
