WebDevStudios (WDS) is pleased to announce the addition of Backend Engineer, Scott Anderson, to our growing team! Scott is passionate about developing WordPress services that help organizations make a positive impact in their communities.
“I’ve been a user and freelancer of WordPress for about seven years now and have always enjoyed the unique challenges a new industry brings to the table,” says Scott. “The greatest joy I have is when the project is in the hands of the customer helping them serve their audience.”
With his little free time, Scott likes to volunteer his development skills to nonprofits and church organizations that need assistance but could otherwise not afford it. “Most recently, I’ve developed a communication software to text and email Hurricane Dorian preparation information in Central Florida for Hispanic relief efforts as well as update their WordPress websites with timely information,” Scott elaborates.
Scott discovered an interest in computers at an early age and has experience working for Geek Squad, developing software for planes and trains while graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science from The University of Central Florida.
Before joining the team, Scott developed software for the railroad CSX and continues to donate his time developing MyEpiscopal.com. He’s been involved in his local WordPress community for many years and became friends with a former WDS employee, Gary, who spoke highly about WDS and all the great things that we do for our clients and for the greater WordPress community through our Five for the Future efforts.
“I’ve always enjoyed working with WordPress and decided that the culture and opportunities available through WDS were in line with my values and decided to dive headfirst. It’s only been one week, but I can say with confidence that it is one of the best decisions I’ve made.”
Scott lives in Jacksonville, Florida with his wife, Kaci, and dog, Oliver. Together, they take pleasure in the Florida lifestyle. Scott loves to run, listen to music, play the guitar, read, and serve in his church.
