Three Cheers for Our Newest Teammate

As we head toward the end of the year, the growth of WebDevStudios (WDS) continues. Our client list is expanding, and that calls for the necessity of more team members, especially project managers (PM). This brings us to Cristina Dios, one of the newest PMs to join our WordPress agency.

Cristina’s role includes managing budgets and timelines, as well as serving as the client liaison. There is so much to learn about her, so let’s get to it. Keep reading for an introduction to Cristina, and discover why we’re cheering her addition to WDS.

Prior to becoming a project manager, Cristina was a teacher. She started teaching at the Newark Public Schools fresh out of college and says that teaching prepared her for dealing with the unique needs of so many different stakeholders, such as parents, students, administrators, and colleagues.

“Being a teacher helped me develop into a professional who could balance a lot of tasks simultaneously,” Cristina explains. In fact, it was during her teaching tenure that she began her graduate school journey at the Rutgers School of Social Work, eventually completing her Master of Social Work in Non-profit Management and Policy.

Cristina was the director of marketing and external affairs for a large non-profit organization for a little more than five years where she organized events and was responsible for external communications and constituent relations. Eventually, she decided she was ready for new challenges, which brought her to WDS.

“The onboarding process at the WDS PMO is very well planned,” reports Cristina. “The department’s director and manager put a great deal of time and thought into making sure training is related to the real-life work environment.”

Cristina says she is looking forward to learning a ton about WordPress and is eager to experience a brand new website launch. She is enjoying her responsibilities, including organizing, monitoring and directing the completion of specific tasks for projects, and making sure that client projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope.

“Strong relationships with all project stakeholders help drive the success of each project,” Cristina states. “My favorite part about being a PM is cheering on the talented engineers on my team.”
