Corey is the UX Strategist at WebDevStudios (WDS). He has been with the company since 2011, making him one of our longest-tenured employees. Since beginning at WDS, Corey transitioned from a part-time frontend engineer, to a full-time engineer, to a Lead Frontend Engineer, and finally to the role of UX Strategist. In his current role, Corey prepares project plans to set up both the WDS team and our partners for success through the course of a project. In his time at WDS, he has worked with clients like Microsoft, Campbell’s, Partnership For Drug-Free Kids, Starbucks and others.
After graduating with a degree in Audio-Radio and Digital Media Production, he began working in print shops where he managed, designed, and oversaw the printing of newspapers and magazines. While his main focus was working in the print medium, he began to integrate web development into his day job as a way to extend his love of creating websites from his personal life to his professional life. After stepping away from the printing press, he shifted his focus to working as a freelance web developer for a short period of time before joining WDS. With his fingers free of ink, he now prepares project plans that help our engineering team create dynamic, accessible, and modern websites.
Corey lives in Austin, Texas with his partner, four cats, and two dogs who all help ensure every day is filled with a different surprise. In his free time, he trains as a professional wrestler; enjoys video games, woodworking, and baking; and spends way too much time on Ancestry.com trying to figure out whether or not he actually is descended from witches. So far, the outlook is good. Good and spooky.
