Mike has been coding for the web since the days of the Mosaic web browser and HTML 1.0. His 18 years in web application development range from academic experience at Georgetown, Stanford, and Penn, to dot com experience at Ask Jeeves and E*Trade. Prior to joining WebDevStudios he was the Director of the Web Applications Team at Penn’s School of Medicine. Mike is the author of several free WordPress plugins, including the popular Shashin plugin for displaying photos and videos from Picasa, Youtube, and Twitpic. He authored an article for PHP Architect magazine on configuring web servers for Unicode, and has given presentations on Clean Code, at Philly WordCamp and Agile practices, at the Wharton Web Conference.
Mike has two sons, a wonderful wife, has a passion for travel, and has also tried his hand at being a construction worker, DJ, political scientist, community college teacher, surfer, and gearhead. So he’s sort of like all the Village People rolled into one… but not really.
