John is an Engineering Manager at WebDevStudios. His primary role is to oversee a team of incredible software engineers who collaboratively create intuitive and innovative solutions for our clients. His skill set includes PHP and frontend development (with a heavy emphasis on WordPress), DevOps, technical strategy, plugin and theme development. He’s responsible for managing the team’s day-to-day, supporting engineers as a servant leader, and ensuring projects get across the finish line on time.
John started his career at a fast-paced and growing agency in the Minneapolis suburbs back in mid-2011 as a software engineer. After working with two other agencies in town, he was given the opportunity to become a manager and build a WordPress team with a corporate retailer in 2021. Attending and speaking at WordCamps are something he’s no stranger to! With over 12 years of industry experience spanning from small to large agencies to national corporate retailers, John brings a great deal of knowledge to the table.
In his downtime, John likes to unwind with video games, binging all the shows and movies, smoking or grilling all the things on his various BBQ hardware, trying all the craft beer the Twin Cities has to offer, getting up to the cabin and entertaining his dog Comet.
